Editorial (Autumn 2016)

Welcome all to our ninth issue! We launched the magazine in our favorite season, and are thrilled to be ushering in the autumn once again and, with it, our third year. Liminality is, as always a wonderful adventure for us, and we feel so lucky to be able to bring you amazing poetry every season. May it be ever so.

We’re also honored to have our first custom art as this issue’s cover! We clearly resonate with Caitlyn Kurelich‘s beautiful artwork, and she agrees; this issue’s cover was created just for us, in response to the poems within.

Among our poems this time are a mermaid who returns to find her sea turned to wine by the sun and a boy giving his shorn hair to the birds. A tornado passes wisdom to her children. There are the ashes of forests and witches’ cottages. There are ghosts and statements of love. Here too you’ll find falls of several kinds: an angel with plum-stained hands, a giant tree lost to the axe, and a narrator who loses the sky but gains… Well, you’ll just have to read to find out. What are you waiting for?
